Last fall, students in Dr. Amy O’Brien’s Desktop Publishing class were challenged to create a final semester project that could serve as a promotional piece for the Department of English.
Each student created a unique publication that addressed the assignment’s fundamental goals: include the English department’s five major programs; create original graphics and/or photographs; and demonstrate four basic design principles: proximity, alignment, repetition, and contrast.
Most students opted to create posters. Included below are five of the most engaging designs. For more information about WRI 226: Desktop Publishing, consult the course description page of this website or contact Dr. O’Brien directly at email@example.com.
