Renowned literary journalist Ted Conover will be the keynote speaker when KU hosts the annual English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) conference October 5-7. The conference features scholarly and creative presentations by English faculty from the fourteen Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education campuses and from universities across the mid-Atlantic region as well.
All members of the university and the public are invited to Conover’s Keynote Address, which will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 in the Georgian Room of Old Main. Conover is the author of Newjack: Guarding Sing Sing, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2001. His other books include Coyotes: A Journey Across Borders with America’s Illegal Migrants, and Rolling Nowhere: Riding the Rails with America’s Hoboes. His most recent book is Immersion: A Writer’s Guide to Going Deep.
