This year’s theme is “Writing for All Reasons.” While much of the composing we do at KU is read and evaluated by professors, in truth, we don’t just write for grades and for teachers. We write to explore, discover, argue, or inform. We write to shine a light in dark corners, to uplift others voices, and to share our uniqueness with the world. This year, the KUCC welcomes compositions in any genre, with any purpose, for a variety of audiences. What matters is that you aren’t writing by rote–you are writing for a reason. Submit a project that you feel passionate about or proud of. Maybe the professor liked it, maybe not. Maybe it earned you an A, maybe not. You share it for your own reasons.
All Kutztown University students who are enrolled in an English Composition or Literature course in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 are encouraged to submit course projects to the conference.
To participate, please complete a KUCC submission form, (also available in the English department office). Attach a brief abstract of your presentation, project, or paper. Faculty may also submit student work for themed panels by completing the submission form and indicating the overall theme.
Submissions may be dropped off in the English Department Office or may be given to either chair via e-mail: Dr. Amy Lynch-Biniek (email@example.com) and Dr. Kathleen Hartman (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Deadline for submissions is December 12, 2017 (fall) / April 2, 2018 (spring)
KUCC is sponsored by the Kutztown University Department of English. The conference will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, location TBA.
