Dr. Chernekoff teaches Composition and Rhetoric courses in the English Department.  Her research interests include genre studies, food and travel writing, the teaching of writing, pedagogical practices, and nonfiction. She co-edited the 2011 Yearbook Paris-Brest-Paris: Stories and Photos from the 2011 PBP with colleague Amy O’Brien. Her essay “The Rider Stories of Randonneurs: Pilgrims’ Tales That Constitute A Virtual Community” appeared in Exploring Travel and Tourism: Essays on Journeys and Destinations, edited by Jennifer Sweda in 2012, and she has written on student writing in home dialects, self-directed placement, and the personal critical essay. Dr. Chernekoff served as Department Chair from 2005 to 2014. She is currently the editor of American Randonneur, the quarterly print publication of Randonneurs USA.
