Dr. Pytleski’s research focuses on academic and personal writing, secondary English education, university writing centers, gender studies, and first year composition. She recently published “Contact Zones and Contingent Faculty: An Argument for Conversion” in College Composition and Communication’s FORUM: Issues about Part-time and Contingent Faculty and “Crossing the Ideological Borders of Writing: The Fundamental Nature of Personal Writing (and Academic Discourse) in the First Year Writing Classroom” in EAPSU Online. Besides teaching composition and secondary English education courses on teaching writing, she also supervises and observes secondary English student teachers during their practicum semester in middle and high schools. Dr. Pytleski is the director of the Kutztown University Writing Center and is a faculty representative on the Commission on the Status of Women. She is the co-chair of the English Department Honors and Awards Committee and the Temporary Evaluation Committee and also serves as a member of the Kutztown University Composition Conference Committee and the PASSHE Women’s Consortium.
