Dr. John Ronan is interested in colonial American literature, antebellum American literature, and critical theory. His most recent publication, a study of Hawthorne, Melville, and Emersonian character, appeared in Leviathan: A Journal of Melville Studies in September 2014. His article “Young Goodman Brown and the Mathers” appeared in New England Quarterly in 2012. Dr. Ronan is Vice President of the Kutztown University Senate and Chair of the KU Committee on Committees. He chaired the Honorary Doctorate Committee from 2012-13 and served as the EAPSU treasurer from 2013-2015.
